About the role
The Collections Officer manages routine collection activities for delinquent loans. The role ensures that recovery processes are followed while maintaining compliance with lending regulations.
This position supports portfolio quality and operational performance.
Responsibilities and competencies
- Contact borrowers with overdue accounts
- Negotiate repayment plans within policy limits
- Record and track collection activities
- Escalate difficult cases to management
- Collaborate with loan support and risk teams
- Client engagement and negotiation
- Record keeping and reporting
- Compliance awareness
- Team collaboration
Requirements
- Minimum of 2:1 in any discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in loan collections or credit operations
- Knowledge of collections processes and regulations
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
